Camp Singers (May 23rd-25th)

Camp Singers (May 23rd-25th)
Head to the Camp Singers website to grab yourself a seat, this one’s going to be a good one.
We’re up in Delhi, NY, tucked into the Catskills, rolling hills, farms everywhere, and that perfect mix of quiet and a little bit of energy from the town. It’s one of those places that feels easy the second you get there.
The weekend is built around making things, eating really well, and just settling into camp. You’ll pick a lane to start, either screen printing or block printing, and really get your hands dirty with it. Learning the basics, playing with texture, layering, messing things up and figuring it out. It’s not precious at all. You can bounce between both throughout the weekend, build out pieces, even carve your own blocks or burn your own screens. Think of it like making a wearable diary from the weekend, bring stuff you want to print on.
Food is going to be a big part of it. Amer from Rani’s is cooking, pulling from his Pakistani background and all the places he’s lived, super nostalgic, super thoughtful, just really good food. We’ll have a mix of things throughout: pizza party, campfire dinner, and then a proper farm-to-table dinner that kind of anchors the whole weekend.
We’ve also got SaunaGuus bringing a mobile sauna and parking it right by the pond, so you can go back and forth between heat and cold all day. Morning yoga with Leah, swimming, hanging by the water, beers, wine, and plenty of N/A stuff flowing the whole time.
It’s three days of good people, making things, being outside, and leaning into that summer camp energy.
Location: Delhi, NY
Delhi, New York (pronounced DEL-high) is a charming small town in the western Catskill Mountains of Delaware County. Known for its rolling hills, lush farmland, and vibrant college-town energy—thanks to SUNY Delhi—it offers a blend of rural tranquility and creative culture. The village features historic architecture, cozy cafés, farmers markets, antique shops, and easy access to outdoor adventures like hiking, fishing, and swimming. Whether you're escaping the city or seeking connection with nature and community, Delhi is a quiet gem with a warm, welcoming spirit.
The Chef: Amer of Rani’s
Rani’s is ode to my mother Amtul, her nickname being Rani, which means princess in Urdu. I take influence from my time moving across the country from Charlotte NC to San Jose CA. I like to create dishes that give me that warm feeling of nostalgia using spices that are familiar to my Pakistani heritage. Taking those spices and implementing them into dishes that I grew up eating in my modern America-Pakistani household.
Two Workshops
Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve
Screen Printing!
Text & Texture
Block Printing!
Memorial day participants will choose 1 primary workshop, either screen printing or block printing. (We will be able to bounce around between activities throughout the weekend, but day 1 will be dedicated to learning one craft and exploring its possibilities.)
Participants will learn the basics of block or screen printing using prepared matrixes (carved blocks, burned screens.) This will also showcase some of the work the artists are busy with (as well as provide diverse examples of work that can be created through these two mediums.) Morning 1 will be largely practicing-- the act and technique of printmaking. How ink interacts with the fabric. How much pressure is needed. What patterning and textural techniques can we discover? Experiment with color, text, texture and layers on t shirts, paper, fabric. This practice isn't precious. Collaborate and get some print reps in!
There will be the opportunity to carve your own block, or burn your own ideas/designs onto silk screens. So come with sketchbooks and journals to brainstorm, write, sketch and design.
We will layer, collage, collaborate to build up our garments. We ask that you bring clothing (or any paper, fabric, alternative flat surfaces) you'd like to experiment on/with. Possibilities are infinite! Layering, mixed media, collage-like printmaking. I like to think about this project as a wearable diary, or an interpretation of the environment we're printing in. Explore ways of communication. Explore methods of printing nature.
Our friends over at SaunaGuus are bringing there mobile 20 person sauna and parking it by the pond for all of us to enjoy.
